Goethe-Institut Prague
A pompous entrance from the 19th century Gründerzeit. The Goethe-Institut wanted to give this space, designed with all the power of representation, a new function: it was to be transformed into a modern reception area with counters, seating and an exhibition space. The built-in fixtures are unobtrusively reduced and modern, but nevertheless blend in harmoniously with the 19th century substance.
